A Few Likes and Dislikes (in no particular order)

I like being married to Lisa and marriage in general. It's been good for me--can't imagine growing as I have through the years in a single, celibate lifestyle.

I like my kids, too. They're neat people!

I don't like the polarization that's happening in the Catholic Church. . . I wish Rome would do more to contribute to its healing.

I like my quiet meditation times. I've been doing this for years. It's the foundation for everything that happens in my life.

I don't like being sick (bet you're amazed at this one), nor toothaches, of which I have had my fair share.

I am grateful for my friends, what few can tolerate me.

I like golf, but I don't like hitting slices and hooks (and, alas, they are many).

I abhor almonds in Hershey bars--messes up a great piece of candy.

Speaking of food: I like cooking Cajun food (it's of my culture), and even moreso, eating it!

I detest phone calls from telemarketers when I'm watching a good tv show (and most any other time, for that matter. . . "Hello! Is this Mr. Stroman? I'm calling for. . .").

I thoroughly enjoy the internet and e mail, and have been doing ministry via the net since 1996.

I love Macintosh computers, especially my new iMac and Mac OS X. . . can't imagine why anyone would want to use anything else (unless it's all they know).

And you know what? All those likes and dislikes don't really define who I am! I like that most: being a mystery to myself and life. It used to bother me not to fully understand the mystery of it all, but I am becoming increasingly content to simply enjoy it.
